1 INTRODUCTION

Surfboard Riding Competition South Australia

As surfing grew in participation surfing competitions became a thing. the first surfing competition was organised by the South Coast SurfChaser crew. Fishery Bay Board riders ran a big event in 1963. The Surfing Association of South Australia was formed in 1963-1964 The First State Titles were held in 1964 and won By Graham Trelour who had moved to South Australia From Manly Sydney in 1962. Surfriding clubs were formed during this period as well, so there were interclub events plus the club member events happening along the coast.
