Peter Crofton ran the Surf Centre in Adelaide at 28 Brown St. Adelaide from 1962 and was also building boards there. They and Jay Bee’s were the first in the state to have a surf shop and a factory for building the boards.

Having a team of skilled board glassers and sanders was key to producing good surfboards, But having enough work to keep them around could only be achieved if they could also work elsewhere. The solution was that Crofton and Jay Bees could share there staff, allowing board production to progress.

The staff included Graham Treloar sales. Glassing “Shiek” real name unsure, Peter Yeo Sanding I think. All these guys worked at JayBee’s. Shaping done by Peter Crofton. Graham Treloar went on to become the first open surfing champion in South Australia.
